He thus became a perfectionist in detail and a relentless worker, all the same decked out with an immense sense of humor, unbridled creativity and extraordinary genius.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 2008, unfortunately and to the chagrin of the wine world, the Didier Dagueneau estate lost its master in a microlight accident. His two children, Louis-Benjamin, barely 28 years old at the time, and Charlotte decided to honor their father and took over the reins of the estate. For almost 10 vintages, it is clear that the challenge has not only been successful but that the next generation is now assured and brilliant! Although I am so in love with the twin Les Quarts, I must admit that here comes not only an even softer Quarts-de-Chaume but also even more concentrated and fine. The aging capacity is ideal, and thanks to its balance, I see no doubt that the wine can age 100+ years. What a start for Domaine Belargus! 9% alcohol. He became Pouilly-Fumé's enfant terrible by strongly and publicly criticizing the practices of his neighboring winemakers, at a time when the region was associated with high yields and accusations of mixing vintages.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDagueneau's approach led to the revitalization of the image not only of Pouilly-Fumé, but also of Sauvignon Blanc itself, and of Sancerre - the appellation located across the Loire. Dagueneau adopted the \u003cstrong\u003ebiodynamic\u003c\/strong\u003e in 1993 (before it really took off elsewhere), worked the land with horses and severely reduced yields.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDagueneau also used oak barrels to maximize contact with the lees. Dagueneau wines have come to embrace the regional flint character and they are renowned for their ability to age. In 2000, Dagueneau bought vineyards in Sancerre in the Monts Damnés, and also started a side project in the Jurançon in 2002 (Les Jardins de Babylone). \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDomaine Dagueneau offers a small selection of wines and is best known for four Pouilly-Fumé offerings.
