The estate produces a range of wines from local and neighboring appellations using Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The estate covers a total of 6.5 hectares across nine appellations, including parcels in the Grand Cru vineyards of Clos Vougeot, Echezeaux, and Richebourg. Anne Gros also produces Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny village wines, as well as generic Bourgogne red and Bourgogne white wines.

The vines are cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic farming. The red grapes are vinified in epoxy-lined concrete vats, while the whites are fermented in stainless steel.

Barrel aging generally lasts around 16 months, with 80% new oak for the grand crus, 50% for the village wines, and 30% for the regional wines. The Bourgogne white is aged for 12 months in large-format oak barrels (500 liters), approximately 3% of which are new oak.

Anne Gros is part of a large family of winegrowers from the region and joined her father François at the family estate in 1988. The estate was called Domaine Anne et François Gros until 1995 and is now simply Domaine Anne Gros.

Le Grand Maupertui

This single-block 94-are parcel, planted in 1904 and purchased in 1920 by Jules Gros, was bequeathed by Louis Gros to his son François. The regular replanting has resulted in an actual average parcel age of around 70 years.

Located just below Grands Echezeaux in the lieu-dit "Le Grand Maupertui", we wanted to pay tribute to the work of the Cîteaux monks by referencing it on our label.

The etymology may derive from "pertus" in Latin. Not because we believe there was a well at this location, but rather because it may refer to a slight depression in the landscape across the width of the alluvial fan of the combe d’Orveau.

As members from the beginning of the creation of GEST (Group for the Study and Monitoring of Terroirs), we were able to observe the presence of deep clay soil with variable particle size before reaching the decomposed rocks.

The parcel lies on a gentle slope and offers excellent natural drainage. The wall surrounding the Clos protects it from slow but inevitable erosion, as it is already sometimes possible to observe an elevation difference of approximately 1.50 m between the road linking Vosne-Romanée to Château du Clos-Vougeot and the edge of the vines.

Format: 75cl

Country: France

Region: Burgundy

Farming: biodynamic 🌱

Grape variety: Pinot Noir

Tasting: Exceptional Pinot Noir! It stands out with a bright red color and reveals aromas of black fruits, notably ripe cherry and blackcurrant, complemented by subtle peppery and spicy nuances. On the palate, this vintage offers a broad and powerful structure, with vibrant fruit flavors and complexity supported by ripe, well-integrated tannins. With age, it should develop more pronounced spicy and candied notes, enhancing its depth.
