Saint-Émilion Grand Cru - Château Figeac 2020
The estate
Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion since 1954, the Château-Figeac embodies the excellence of great wines from Bordeaux in the world. The Château-Figeac has been owned by the Manoncourt family for over 120 years.
The Château-Figeac benefits from an exceptional location, to the west of the Saint-Émilion appellation, on the edge of the Pomerol appellation. The vineyard of the estate extends over 40 hectares of vines planted on 3 different gravel rises. Respect for biodiversity, flora, and fauna are at the heart of the estate's concerns.
Pleasing from its youth, Figeac reveals its complexity over time, offers a rich palette of sensations, and always evokes great emotions. The Château de Figeac has a completely different grape variety due to a privileged terroir of gravel: 70% Cabernets (half Cabernet Franc, half Cabernet Sauvignon) and only 30% Merlot. This uniqueness leads to Figeac being described as "the most Médoc-like of Saint-Émilion."

Tasting: the color is a beautiful cardinal red, adorned with subtle shiny reflections. The nose combines enticing aromas of ripe red fruits with delicate spicy notes of white pepper. The palate delights with its creamy attack, elegant tannins, and velvety texture. Its aromatic palette of great richness blends floral aromas (rose, violet) and fruity notes (blackcurrant, stewed strawberries). This Château Figeac 2020 is marked by its precision, purity, balance, and a persistent and refined finish. |
