Tasting: The 2014 Léoville Barton is one of the must-haves of the vintage. Now in bottle, it has a very pure bouquet that gains intensity in the glass, laden with scents of blackberry and raspberry coulis, damp cold stone, a wonderful minerality that becomes more showy with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with taut tannins, a fine line of acidity which gives it precision and liveliness. There is class and sophistication in situ, not a powerful, but beautifully balanced Leoville Barton. It's simply a brilliant precursor to the 2015 and should represent great value.
