Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Mouchere - Monopoly - Domaine Henri Boillot 2016
The domain
The Domaine Henri Boillot settled down at Meursault. Strategically located between these two appellations, it has made Puligny Montrachet And Volnay his speciality. The estate has made it its mission to work out the most precise definition of each of their climates.
THE soils of Puligny-Montrachet are brown limestone soils, or even limestone where alternate marly clay-limestone beds, sometimes deep or even on hard rock. Clay loams are thick uphill and fine-grained lower down the slope.
THE terroirs of Volnay lie on a calcareous soil supporting schist banks. Combined with an altitude of 230 to 280 meters, the wines from the climates of this vineyard enjoy great aromatic intensity and unique finesse.
The domain limits these interventions and all incoming as much as possible. A philosophy applied since the 1990s which has made the estate a forerunner of ultra-reasoned vineyard management.
