Côtes du Jura 'En Chalasse' Chardonnay - Domaine Labet 2018

The estate

Founded in 1974 by Alain and Josie Labet in Rotalier, in the southern Revermont, Domaine Labet is a family business deeply attached to its terroir. Today, siblings Julien, Romain and Charline Labet work together to cultivate a 13-hectare vineyard divided into 45 plots, spread across four communes and thirteen different named sites. Located about fifteen kilometers south of Lons-le-Saunier, this patchwork of plots benefits from complex geology that gives the wines a wide range of expressions.

The estate has chosen a “Burgundian” approach: each named site is vinified separately, with topped-up barrels (without added sulfur or oxidation), to reveal the unique character of each terroir. The cuvées are made from a single grape variety, and white wines dominate production. The family has also converted the entire vineyard to biodynamic farming, embracing precise viticulture and respect for the environment.

Domaine Labet has established itself as one of the Jura’s most iconic producers, particularly through its “Fleur de Marne” cuvées (old-vine Chardonnay) and “Fleur de Savagnin,” which express the characteristic minerality and finesse of the southern Revermont. The estate is regularly cited among the leading names in traditional Jura wines and natural wines.
