Côtes du Jura 'Fleur de Savagnin' - Domaine Labet 2020
The Estate
Founded in 1974 by Alain and Josie Labet in Rotalier, in the Sud-Revermont, Domaine Labet is a family business with a deep attachment to its terroir. Today, siblings Julien, Romain, and Charline Labet cultivate a 13-hectare vineyard together, divided into 45 plots spread across four villages and thirteen different lieux-dits. This patchwork of plots, located around fifteen kilometers south of Lons-le-Saunier, benefits from complex geology that gives the wines a great diversity of expression.
The estate has chosen a “Burgundian” approach: each lieu-dit is vinified separately, topped up (without adding sulfur or allowing oxidation), to reveal the unique voice of each terroir. The cuvées are made from a single grape variety, and white wines dominate production. The family has also converted the entire vineyard to biodynamic farming, embracing precision viticulture and respect for the environment.
Domaine Labet has established itself as one of the Jura’s most iconic producers, notably with its “Fleur de Marne” (old-vine Chardonnay) and “Fleur de Savagnin” cuvées, which express the characteristic minerality and finesse of the Sud-Revermont. The estate is regularly cited among the leading names in Jura’s peasant wines and natural wines.
