IGP Alpilles - Domaine de Trévallon 2018

The domain

Eloi and Floriane Dürrbach planted the vineyard in 1973, and since then have made Trévallon one of the jewels of the French vineyard. Located on the northern slopes of the Alpilles, the 17 hectares of vines surrounded by wild and preserved nature have been cultivated organically since the beginning. The cool microclimate, the gentle pruning and the predominantly limestone soil are at the origin of the very particular style of the wines.

The Dürrbachs do not claim the Baux-de-Provence appellation, because their grape varieties fall outside the standards of the specifications: cabernet-sauvignon and syrah for the reds, roussanne and marsanne for the whites, supplemented with a little chardonnay. Red, which has become legendary like white, has real aging potential and the work of time gives it additional finesse of expression. Stunning !

Format : 75 cl

 Country: France

Region: Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur

Culture : agriculture reasoned

Grape varieties: Cabernet, Syrah

Tasting: To the eye, the color is intense, a beautiful deep carmine red with purple reflections. The nose is powerful and beautifully elegant, marked by very ripe red and black fruits, on a background of white pepper and liquorice spices, very characteristic of Trévallon. The palate is creamy and ends with a long and beautiful finish with very ripe and refined tannins of very high quality. The balance between freshness, tannins and richness suggests a shelf life of at least 20 years for this great wine.
