IGP Alpilles - Domaine de Trévallon Blanc 2017

The domain

Eloi and Floriane Dürrbach planted the vineyard in 1973, and since then have made Trévallon one of the jewels of the French vineyard. Located on the northern slope of the Alpilles, the 17 hectares of vines surrounded by wild and preserved nature have been cultivated organically since the beginning. The cool microclimate, the gentle pruning and the predominantly limestone soil are at the origin of the very particular style of the wines.

The Dürrbachs do not claim the Baux-de-Provence appellation, because their grape varieties do not meet the standards of the specifications: cabernet-sauvignon and syrah for the reds, roussanne and marsanne for the whites, supplemented with a little chardonnay. Red, which has become legendary just like white, has real aging potential and the work of time gives it additional finesse of expression. Stunning !

Format : 75 cl

 Country: France

Region: Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur

Culture : agriculture reasoned

Grape varieties: Marsanne, Roussane, Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc, Clairette

Tasting: To the eye, it is bright in color, quite creamy with pronounced and persistent legs. On the nose, we smell white flowers and candied and honeyed fruits, lightly enveloped in oak, which reveal its complexity, quality and richness. On the palate, the aromatic intensity and great maturity of the vintage, offset by a very refreshing finish, are confirmed. This balance between freshness, finesse and maturity suggests a great white wine with a long shelf life.
