Saint Emilion Grand Cru - Chateau Valandraud 2012

The domain

Fruit of the considerable work of a couple passionate about wine, Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud. Château Valandraud was born in 1991 on a 0.6 ha plot bought with all the couple's savings. The château was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé in the 2012 classification of Saint Emilion grands crus. Today the 8.88 ha of the estate are now entirely located on the clay-limestone plateau of Saint Etienne de Lisse. The average age of the vines is 30 years, the oldest exceeding 50 years. The wine is aged in new barrels for 18 to 30 months. The prices of his wines will quickly reach those of the first growths of the appellation and the notes of Robert Parker will exceed those of Ausone and Cheval Blanc in 1995.
