Montrachet Grand Cru - Domaine Ramonet 2023 Magnum

The estate

Mythical estate of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, the Domaine Ramonet enjoys worldwide fame among great wine enthusiasts. Established in 1920 by Pierre Ramonet upon his arrival in Burgundy, the estate quickly gained recognition in France and abroad. Thus, Pierre Ramonet exported his wines worldwide and supplied starred restaurants since the interwar period. Today, Pierre's grandsons, Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, uphold this reputation and expertise by preserving the winemaking techniques and style passed down through generations. The Domaine Ramonet is thus considered one of the most respected references in Chassagne-Montrachet.

The 17 hectares of vineyard tended by the Ramonet family for 3 generations are located between Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. These plots, present in over 24 appellations, rest on exceptional terroirs. Chassagne-Montrachet is a land of white wines. Thus, Chardonnay and Aligoté are the main grape varieties cultivated. They occupy 10 hectares of the total production. Pinot Noir and Gamay occupy the 7 hectares of vines dedicated to the red wines of Domaine Ramonet.

Tasting: Montrachet is often considered the best white wine in the world. It offers an astonishing concentration of the qualities of great white wines from Burgundy. With a beautiful bright gold hue, these wines with rich and complex aromas, reminiscent of hazelnut and honey, have a lot of body, firmness, but also softness, and their flavor is intense and persistent. This wine of intense concentration requires many years to reach perfection. When at its peak, Montrachet develops a richness and complexity of aromas unparalleled.
