Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru - Domaine Georges & Christophe Roumier 2010
The estate
The story begins in 1924, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. At his wedding, Georges Roumier settles in the village of Chambolle-Musigny, renowned for the delicacy of its wines.
His in-laws then entrust him with the keys to several plots of vines, nestled in remarkable appellations: Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, Musigny Grand Cru, and Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru "Les Amoureuses". This vineyard, Georges Roumier takes the time to shape. Year after year, he dedicates himself entirely to his climates, to translate all their nuances. A pioneer, he even initiates bottling at the estate, at a time when the trade dominates.
When his son officially succeeds him in 1961, the Domaine Georges Roumier has already earned its letters of nobility. Jean-Marie Roumier perpetuates this heritage and makes it grow. 20 years later, he is joined by his own son, Christophe Roumier, a graduate in oenology. Together, they bottle their entire harvest starting from the 1983 vintage.
Since Jean-Marie's retirement in 1990, Christophe Roumier continues the family adventure alongside his sister Delphine: an adventure intimately linked to the land, where nothing is more important than the perfect expression of the terroir…
