Chablis Premier Cru Butteaux - François Raveneau 2023 Magnum
The estate
François Raveneau is a renowned family producer located in the Chablis subregion of Burgundy. The estate has built its reputation on its vibrant, mineral-driven Chardonnays, made from grapes sourced from carefully selected small parcels among the appellation’s finest vineyards.
Isabelle and Maxime Raveneau, third-generation cousins, now run the estate, supported by their fathers, brothers Bernard and Jean-Marie, who recently retired but remain actively involved in the vineyards and cellar. Before retiring, the two brothers successfully perpetuated the ancestral traditional viticultural and winemaking techniques established by their father and founder, François Raveneau, before handing over the reins to their children.
Today, the estate covers 10 hectares of vineyards spread across three Grand Cru sites and six Premier Cru sites. These include small parcels in Blanchot, Les Clos and Valmur, as well as Montée de Tonnerre, Vaillons, Butteaux, Chapelot, Montmains and La Forêt. The estate also produces a Chablis Villages and a Petit Chablis.
