Gantenbein Pinot Noir - Weingut Daniel & Marta 2010 - 6 liters

The domain

On the edge of the village of Fläsch, in the Graubunden Rhine Valley, stands a group of remarkable buildings in the middle of the vineyards: the domaine viticole Gantenbein, where Martha and Daniel Gantenbein have been producing wine since 1982. They knew from the start that the vine was key, so they planted Burgundy clones in their vineyards. They learned that it is vital for the grape to maintain its quality throughout its journey from vine to bottle and therefore structured their production accordingly. The flow of grapes and juice is based on the force of gravity, which means no pumps or filters are needed. An area of 12.5 acres - and therefore the largest part - is devoted to Pinot Noir. The Chardonnay is grown on 2.5 acres while the Riesling covers an area of 0.5 acres. The "Gantenbein" is only available from a small network of wine distributors - worldwide.
