The domain

Formerly an electro-mechanic, Thierry German is now one of the elite of the steep slopes of Cornas and, without a doubt, of the northern Rhône valley. Its bottles are snapped up at high prices that reward twenty years of discreet work.

Known, this area is so today and yet the vines cover a small area of ​​5 hectares. Respectful of the living, Thierry Allemand and his team (22 people) treat them with natural products such as copper, avoiding the use of weedkillers. The steep terraces making mechanization impossible, the soils are worked with a winch and a pickaxe. Respectable acts that Thierry Allemand does not wish to be framed by an organic label.

In the cellar, the work is just as meticulous: the wines are vinified in a "natural" spirit, without inputs and therefore without sulphur. Each act is skilfully thought out: the macerations and punching down are slow and gentle and the 24-month aging in used barrels is enriched by a three-month aging in tuns.
