The Estate
A legendary estate of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, the Ramonet estate enjoys worldwide fame among great wine enthusiasts. Founded in 1920 by Pierre Ramonet upon his arrival in Burgundy, the estate quickly gained recognition in France and abroad. Thus, Pierre Ramonet exported his wines worldwide and supplied Michelin-starred restaurants since the interwar period. Today, Pierre's grandsons, Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, continue this reputation and expertise by preserving the winemaking techniques and style passed down through generations. The Ramonet estate is thus considered one of the most respected references of Chassagne-Montrachet.
The 17 hectares of vineyard cared for by the Ramonet family for 3 generations are located between Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. These plots, present in more than 24 appellations, rest on exceptional terroirs. Chassagne-Montrachet is a land of white wines. Thus, Chardonnay and Aligoté are the main grape varieties cultivated. They occupy 10 hectares of the total production. The PinotNoir and Gamay occupy the 7 hectares of vines dedicated to the red wines of the Ramonet estate.

| Grape variety: Chardonnay | Tasting: Color pale gold with silver reflections, bright and clear, with a dense texture suggesting great concentration. First nose of ripe citrus, white flowers, and flint, complemented by notes of fresh butter, hazelnut, and a subtle touch of noble wood. With aeration, nuances of stone fruits, light honey, and wet chalk emerge. Broad and precise attack, supported by straight acidity and an imposing mineral structure. The mid-palate combines volume, tension, and great aromatic purity. The finish is long, saline, with a persistent return of citrus and heated rock, a sign of great Corton-Charlemagne. | |
