The domain
Without giving in to fads, our family lays claim to a typically French winemaker signature, inscribed between tradition and modernity. This respect for the terroir is linked to our origins. We were born there, in this vineyard with a unique location backing onto the southern hillside of Saint-Emilion.
The alliance of hillside wines and the foot of the coast produces a nectar that is powerful, distinguished and silky at the same time. This harmony is found in all the vintages of our Château.

Tasting: La Gaffeliere 2017 is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the nose is a little closed at first, slowly unfolding to reveal fragrant scents of kirsch, black raspberries and warm plums, plus suggestions of unsmoked cigars, tea and coffee. rose hips and undergrowth. Medium-bodied, the palate is fantastically elegant and sophisticated, with loads of bright, fragrant fruit and exquisitely ripe tannins, to finish with bags of freshness and energy. As the lower parts of La Gaffeliere have been affected by frost this year, this wine comes mainly from the part located on the plateau of Saint-Émilion, near Ausone. Impressive ! |
