The domain

The domain Jean-Rene Germanier is located in the hamlet of Balavaud in Vétroz in the canton of Valais and extends over 60 hectares in AOC Valais. The vines are 40 years old on average and benefit from cutting-edge viticulture that respects the environment. Gilles Besse, the associated oenologist believes that everything happens first in the vineyard. For this reason, he works with the most total respect for his land by sublimating the most beautiful indigenous grape varieties of the region (Fendant, Petite Arvine, Humagne, Cornalin, Syrah and many others...) thus expressing the ultimate quintessence of this very particular micro-climate: Almost southern sunshine, cool temperatures and protection from icy winds thanks to the imposing Alpine massifs. To achieve constant improvement, Jean-Rene and Gilles have also chosen to reduce the yield of their vines in order to obtain more concentrated wines. Gilles Besse is a curious man who is always working to improve and test new assemblies.
