Wooden case - Barolo Villero Riserva - Vietti 1982
The domain
For four generations, the family Vietti produces its own wines at Castiglione Falletto. In 1961, Alfredo Currado was among the first to vinify the grapes by plots, all cultivated by him. Today the farm is managed by his son Luca and his son-in-law Mario Cordero. At a time when oenological tricks and magic remedies led to standardization of wines, products which express the distinctive character of a vineyard do not go unnoticed - Vietti is very keen on it. When other Barolos are well past their zenith, these traditionally styled wines are just beginning to blossom and gain in aromatic complexity.
