Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru - Domaine Ramonet 2013

The domain

A legendary estate on the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy , the Ramonet estate enjoys worldwide fame among great wine lovers. Created in 1920 by Pierre Ramonet upon his arrival in Burgundy, the estate quickly gained its stripes in France and abroad. Thus, Pierre Ramonet exports his wines throughout the world and has supplied starred restaurants since the interwar period. Today, Pierre's grandsons, Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, perpetuate this reputation and this know-how by preserving the winemaking techniques and the style passed down from generation to generation. The Ramonet estate is thus considered one of the most respected references in Chassagne-Montrachet .

The 17 hectares of vineyard cared for by the Ramonet family for 3 generations are located between Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet . These plots present in more than 24 appellations are based on exceptional terroirs. Chassagne-Montrachet is a land of white wines. Thus, Chardonnay and Aligoté are the mainly cultivated grape varieties. They occupy 10 hectares of the total production. Pinot noir and Gamay occupy the 7 hectares of vines dedicated to the red wines of the Ramonet estate.
