Chambertin Grand Cru - Bernard Dugat Py 1999
The domain
Founded in 1994 by Bernard Dugat-Py which will append the maiden name of his wife, the Domaine Dugat-Py is one of the most beautiful references of Gevrey Chambertin on the Beaune Coast in Burgundy.
A family of winegrowers, the origins of the Dugat-Py family date back to the 17th century. Bernard Dugat and his son Loïc today embody the 13th generation of winegrowers perpetuating the excellence and know-how of great Burgundy wines.
It was in 1975 that Bernard Dugat made his first vinification and bought plots. Today, the estate's vineyard Dugat-Py has more than 10 hectares of vines planted on very large terroirs of Burgundy such as Pommard and Gevrey Chambertin.
Converted to organic farming in 2003, the estate Dugat-Py will obtain organic certification from 2015 with plots worked in horse-drawn plowing. A true showcase, the magnificent vineyard is managed with the greatest respect for the terroir and receives constant attention.
