Chambertin Grand Cru - Domaine Rossignol-Trapet 2007
The domain
Families Rossignol, originally from Volnay and Trapet de Chambolle, have a long history as winegrowers. THE Domaine Rossignol-Trapet was born from the division in 1990 of the vines of Domaine Trapet. The estate passed a milestone in 1997 by choosing to cultivate part of the vineyard in biodynamic. The entire estate was converted in 1997. Thus no more weedkillers are used, the care given to the vines is natural, the plowing is regular, herbal preparations (horsetails, dandelion and/or nettles) are made. Silica and horn manure are also deposited on the soil to reinforce the harmonious growth of the vines. To this day, it is the sons, Nicolas and David Rossignol, who manage the estate.

Tasting: Le Chambertin is located south of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin and faces due east. It is located directly under the wood that crowns the hillside and goes down to the Route des Grands Crus. It is thus located in the upper part of the Gevrey-Chambertin hillside; it is a little colder than the Clos de Bèze, closer to the Combe Grisard in its southern part which brings it more freshness. |
