A historic and iconic property in Volnay, the Domaine de la Pousse d’Or watches over an exceptional vineyard heritage, including several legendary monopoles such as Clos de la Bousse d’Or and Clos des 60 Ouvrées. Benoît Landanger tends this plot biodynamically with surgical precision. Respect for the lunar calendar and gravity-fed winemaking in the cellar capture the vibrant energy of this sacred place without altering it through mechanical handling.
"Les Amoureuses" takes its name from the passion inspired by Burgundy’s terroir. It is the purest, most sensual and most refined expression of Pinot Noir in the world. At Pousse d’Or, this cuvée is treated like the crown jewel.
Situated on a bedrock of hard limestone with very little topsoil, the vines must draw their resources from the cracks in the rock. This unique geology gives the wine an airy minerality and a fineness of texture found nowhere else.

Tasting: Appearance : translucent ruby, brilliant, of absolute elegance. Nose : an olfactory shock. An enchanting bouquet of violet, old rose, wild raspberry and woodland strawberry, underlined by notes of liquorice and wet stone (minerality). Palate : the wine seems to float across the palate. The texture is extraordinarily silky, the tannins powdery, almost imperceptible. Despite this apparent lightness, the aromatic concentration is phenomenal. Finish : endless and saline, leaving a trail of floral aromas that linger for several minutes. |
