Champagne Louis Roederer - Cristal Millesime Brut 1990 (6L)
The Estate
Still family-owned, the house Louis Roederer relies on a rare vineyard, beautifully located with a high proportion of vines classified as Grand cru (70%). Despite the global success of Cristal, its prestige cuvée, the house Roederer has always refused to engage in a race for production quantities, preferring to maintain control over a supply that is almost exclusively based on owned vineyards (a rare exception at this level!). The result is champagnes that are very focused on purity and precision, with wines that gain immense complexity with aging: do not hesitate to cellar each of the cuvées, as the character of the terroirs and the finesse of the vinifications reveal themselves in a spectacular way over time!

Tasting: the Cristal 1990 is a spectacular and ample wine, with a profusion of aromas of apricots, peaches, flowers, and minerals. Cristal on a grand scale, the 1990 combines breadth, clarity, and precision in a remarkably complete style reminiscent of the 1982. The wine remains generous on the palate, with astonishing length and a finish that lasts forever. |
