Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Tribute to Jacques Perrin - Château de Beaucastel 2013

The domain

The origins of the family Beaucastel dates from the 16th century. AT the beginning of the 20th century Pierre Tramier took over the estate from Beaucastel. His son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, a man of science, gave the estate its momentum, which was amplified by Jacques Perrin who gave his reputation to the Beaucastel Castle until 1978. Today, Jean-Pierre and François - the sons of Jacques - have taken over the 100-hectare estate, ¾ of which are located in AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The red wines of Beaucastel, must be "pure": because they are the exact expression of the terroir and the grapes from which they come.

Tasting:

The first vintage of this prestigious cuvée was born in 1989. Produced in very limited quantities, the Cuvée Tribute to Jacques Perrin comes from a unique terroir of pebbles on clay-limestone and silty soils in an exceptional vineyard located at the northern limit of the appellation Chateauneuf Pope, in the Rhone Valley.

Singular since time immemorial, the Cuvée Hommage à Jacques Perrin is blended from the 13 grape varieties traditionally used in the appellation, favoring the presence of Mourvèdre.
