Edition Collector | Chemin de Fer Dézaley Grand Cru - Luc Massy 2020
! Limited edition of 100 cases !
Luc Massy (Clos du Boux) is a very renowned wine producer in the picturesque and popular region of great wines of Epesses and Dézaley, on the north shore of Lake Geneva, in Lavaux, in the Swiss cantonal wine region of Vaud. The estate produces a range of red and white wines from both vintages, as well as wines from the neighboring vineyards of Saint-Saphorin, also in Lavaux.
The domain was founded at the end of the 19th century by Albert Massy, who planted the family's first vines in the region. In addition to the vines, the estate includes the Epesses cellar building and, overlooking it, the historic 17th century manor house, Clos du Boux.
The listed building is surrounded by nearly two hectares of Grand Cru vines - the only closed Grand Cru in Epesses. The Chasselas vines planted here are located on south-facing clay slopes overlooking Lake Geneva.
The range of Massy wines includes the Grands Crus Epesses and Dézaley as well as the wines of Lavaux (generally labeled with their commune: Dézaley, Epesses and Saint-Saphorin). These wines are made from red grape varieties such as Pinot Noir and Gamay, as well as white grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and the country's flagship grape variety, Chasselas.
These wines are made and aged in the Massy cellar, located just below Clos de Boux. The estate is currently managed by the fourth generation of Massy brothers, Gregory and Benjamin.
Format : 70 cl
Culture: conventional agriculture
|Grape variety: Chasselas
Tasting: Dézaley Chemin de Fer is a wine of character which needs at least one year of aging to offer its fullness, its aromatic complexity, with its touches of flint, gunflint, its honeyed notes. It is opulent, flattering, fills the mouth with great generosity before concluding with a very long finish.
