Spirits/Eau de vie | Gantenbein - Vieux Marc 1994
The domain
The Graubünden valley in the Rhine with its spectacular landscapes, more precisely the small wine-growing village of Fläsch, serves as the setting for the Gantenbein winery. The planting in 1982 by Martha and Daniel Gantenbein of the first Burgundian clones on six hectares marked the beginning of the adventure. From now on, the estate is mainly dedicated to the production of pinot noir, with smaller areas devoted to the cultivation of chardonnay and riesling. The concern for quality extends into the cellar where the grapes and juices pass by gravity, using the natural pressure of the earth to avoid the use of pumps and filters. In addition to its fine Pinot Noir-based wines, the estate offers more confidential vintages of Chardonnay and Riesling.
