Tenuta San Guido - Guidalberto Toscana IGT 2008
The Estate
The passion that fuels the Tenuta San Guido has developed under the guidance of a good star that encompasses centuries of history. Tradition and culture are the roots of their brand. The estate that is the origin of the famous Sassicaia, the 'Super Tuscan' Sassicaia is today considered the highest expression of Italian wine production, for the level achieved and its consistent quality, the result of many years of research on a terroir - Bolgheri, on the coast of Maremma - and a grape variety, Cabernet Sauvignon, which has made its founder a true pioneer of quality wine production in Italy.

Tasting: the name of the wine comes from Guidalberto della Gherardesca, an ancestor of Nicolo who has inspired him for a long time. Guidalberto was a pioneer of modern agriculture in Bolgheri in the 19th century. Nicolo's ambition for this wine was to reveal for the first time the potential of merlot on this terroir. Unlike the veteran Sassicaia, this wine is more intended to be enjoyed in its youth. |
