IGP Alpilles - Domaine de Trevallon White 2018

The estate

Eloi and Floriane Dürrbach planted the vineyard in 1973, and have since made Trévallon one of the jewels of the French wine scene. Located on the northern slope of the Alpilles, the 17 hectares of vines, surrounded by unspoiled wilderness, have been farmed organically from the outset. The cool microclimate, gentle pruning, and predominantly limestone soil give the wines their distinctive style.

The Dürrbachs do not claim the Baux-de-Provence appellation, as their grape varieties fall outside the standards set by its specifications: Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah for the reds, Roussanne and Marsanne for the whites, complemented by a little Chardonnay. The red, now legendary like the white, has real aging potential, and time gives it added expressive finesse. Superb!

Size: 75 cl

 Country: France

Region: Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

Farming:  sustainable

Grape varieties: Marsanne, Roussanne, Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc

Tasting: Visually, it has a bright color and is quite smooth, with pronounced, persistent legs. On the nose, white flowers and candied, honeyed fruit come through, lightly enveloped in oak, revealing its complexity, quality, and richness. On the palate, the aromatic intensity and great maturity of the vintage are confirmed, balanced by a very refreshing finish. This balance of freshness, finesse, and maturity promises a great white wine with excellent aging potential.
