IGP Veneto - Alzero - Giuseppe Quintarelli 1998
The domain
Giuseppe Quintarelli – who died in 2012 – is a real legend in Veneto for his exceptional amarone, a type of dry and rich red wine made from raisined grapes of the Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara varieties. But it also produces a magnificent Cabernet Franc, made using the same methods as Amarone, with raisined berries. It is a wine with a remarkable touch and slightly more concentrated than Amarone.

Tasting: The Venetos raised from Giuseppe Quintarelli was born in vineyards located in the municipality of Negrar, in the magical terroir of Valpolicella. It is produced from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties, harvested between late August and early September. After pressing, the grapes ferment in contact with indigenous yeasts for about 50 days. Subsequently, the wine ages for 30 months in barrels and for another 30 months in oak barrels, before being bottled. It is characterized by an intense red color. The nose opens with an intense bouquet, with pleasant notes of ripe fruit. On the palate it is powerful, pleasantly structured and with a fruity aftertaste. |
