Margaux - Château Palmer 1986

The estate

Another great star of the Margaux appellation, Château Palmer offers a style that is nonetheless very different from that of its neighbor, Château Margaux. Due to the difference in its grape variety (it is the Médoc estate that incorporates the highest proportion of Merlot in its final blend), the wines of Château Palmer offer an unusual opulence, roundness, and silkiness for this production area. Since 2004, the management of the vineyards by Thomas Duroux has allowed the estate to gain in precision and consistency, bringing the latest vintages to the top.

The second wine, Alter Ego, meets the same demanding criteria as the grand wine but is designed to be consumed younger (synonymous with finesse and elegance) resonates within the finest tables in France. It must be said that in certain vintages, this château can rival Palmer while offering prices infinitely more reasonable than its rival!
