Meursault Blanc - Coche-Dury 2018
The estate
Jean-François Coche Dury, assisted by his son Raphaël, produces wines that Chardonnay lovers or more specifically white Burgundy enthusiasts from around the world are eager to obtain, and the reviews are glowing. His estate covers more than 10.5 hectares, of which 9 are in Meursault. Instantly recognizable, his wines are precise and have typical aromas reminiscent of hazelnut. They generally benefit from exceptional length.
The most prestigious wines are aged in new barrels up to 50%. Unlike most other Burgundy estates, the whites are aged longer than the reds (20 versus 18 months on average). They are bottled by hand without prior filtration. It's difficult to choose among the Meursaults of Coche Dury to determine which is the best. They are all highly sought after, but it is probably the Corton Charlemagne from the estate that most captivates its aficionados. The red Burgundies, although less renowned than the whites, are of excellent quality.

Tasting: the Meursaults from Domaine Coche Dury develop intense aromas of honey and linden, with a round and silky flavor and a very long finish evoking plum and especially hazelnut. This toasted scent is the signature olfactory mark of the estate. |
