Pauillac - Château Lafite Rothschild 2012
The domain
First among the first in the history of classified growths in 1855 of Bordeaux, the Château Lafite Rothschild b> is a lord on his grave lands. Bearer of a long wine-growing tradition initiated in 1620, it has asserted itself over the centuries as a true standard of the Pauillac appellation on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region. b>
Because great wines are only born in great terroirs, Château Lafite Rothschild benefits from an exceptional location with a vineyard divided into three large zones. From the hillsides surrounding the Château to the Carruades plateau to the west and a plot in the neighboring town of Saint-Estèphe, Château Lafite Rothschild oversees a total of 112 ha of vines planted on fine and deep gravel soils with sand in surface while the limestone subsoil allows excellent drainage.

Tasting: deep ruby color with purple reflections and brighter edges. Delicately animal bouquet, notes of black cherry, nuances of blackberry, candied violet. Juicy, medium complexity, well-integrated tannins, seems rather lean in the heart, structure rich in finesse, red berries, offers great charm to drink. |
