Pauillac - Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2002
The estate
Second Great Growth of Pauillac, the magnificent château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande shines on the left bank of Bordeaux. The property was born from the division of the Pichon-Longueville estate in 1850. The château takes its name from Virginie de Pichon Longueville, Countess of Lalande.
In 2007, château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande saw a new chapter in its history as it came under the wing of the Rouzaud family, owner of the prestigious Champagne House Louis Roederer. The Rouzaud family breathed new life into the property by restructuring the vineyard and equipping it with high-performance facilities to elevate the estate to the ranks of the best classified growths of Pauillac. Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is also referred to as a "super second".
