Pomerol - Château Trotanoy 1982
The estate
Purchased by Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953, Château Trotanoy has been considered one of the first growths of Pomerol since the late 18th century. The soil of Château Trotanoy is a very dense mix of clay and gravel that tends to harden when drying after rain, reaching a hardness close to concrete, hence the name 'Trotanoy', meaning 'too difficult' to cultivate. Manual harvest. Double sorting: manual and optical.
Already recognized for the quality of its wines in Roman times, Pomerol is the smallest appellation in the Bordelais. With internationally renowned châteaux, it produces a limited quantity of wines, prized for their unique personality and highly sought-after character.

Tasting: Trotanoy is a naturally deep, complex, and richly concentrated wine, with exceptional aging potential. It has a deep color and a dense, powerful nose, complemented on the palate by creamy notes of dark chocolate, as well as a unique aromatic concentration due to its very old vines. |
