The estate
Owned by Gérard Perse since 1997, the prestigious Château Pavie has been a Premier Grand Cru Classé A of St-Émilion since 2012 (previously classified B), alongside the stars Ausone, Angélus, and Cheval Blanc. Located 35km East of Bordeaux (Dordogne right bank), it is neighbors with the estates La Gaffelière, Larcis Ducasseand Pavie Decesse, to name just a few. The vines of Château Pavie, averaging 43 years old, span 37 hectares with three distinct terroirs: the plateau (limestone), the slope (clay-limestone), and the foot of the slope (sandy-clay). The density of the vines, cultivated using sustainable agriculture, is 5,800 plants/ha, and the grape variety composition is as follows: Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (25%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%).
