Saint-Estèphe - Château Calon Ségur 2016

The domain

Located at the very north of Saint-Estèphe, Château Calon-Ségur is one of the historic properties of the Médoc (the Marquis de Ségur also owned Château Lafite and Château Latour). Carried to its best level by the Capbern-Gasqueton family, owners for more than a century, Calon-Ségur now belongs to the Suravenir insurance group. Its new director, Vincent Millet, who came from Château Margaux, has the mission of leading the cru towards increasing quality via blends more marked by Cabernet-Sauvignon. The wines appear to be among the most racy and regular in the Médoc.
