Saint-Julien - Château Léoville Las Cases 1989
The domain
Often considered the equal of the Premiers Crus Classés of Bordeaux, the great wine of Léoville Las Cases is today the most prestigious of wines of Saint-Julien. Property of Jean-Hubert Delon for more than 30 years, Léoville Las Cases has an exceptional terroir: 53 Hectares on the banks of the Gironde where the first wine is produced. "Impossible to fault Léoville Las Cases for 30 years. With superb depth, the quality reaches or even exceeds that of the Premiers Crus Classés for a quarter of the price. For us, it is the best of the Second Crus Classés." (Review of the wines of France, December 2011). The first of the second vintages!
