Pinot Noir Terres Rouges metaPHUSIS - Steve Bettschen 2022
The estate
Nature lover, Steve Bettschen is primarily a great wine connoisseur after eleven years spent at a renowned Swiss wine merchant. Called by the land and production, he bought his first vineyard in 2007.
Surrounded by the best winemakers from the Romandy region, he becomes a winemaker-cellar master and quickly increases his production, also thanks to the purchase of grapes from friendly winemakers.
The range PHUSIS designates the wines from its own vineyards: Clos du Mormont (La Sarraz / Côtes de l’Orbe / Vaud) – Orny (Côtes de l’Orbe / Vaud) – Sensine (Conthey / Valais). The range metaPHUSIS is made from grapes or wines purchased from respectful winemakers whose work and plots are known to Steve Bettchen.

Grape variety: Pinot Noir |
Tasting: dark cherry color. On the first nose, there are lovely smoky notes against a backdrop of red berries and raspberry. Then come hints of sweet spices, soft wood, and carnation. Quite tight on the attack, the palate extends over a tonic, rather fresh body, endowed with numerous fine tannins, and finishes on a large basket of red fruits. Still a bit reserved, it should fully blossom after 2 to 3 years of aging (April 2024). |
